This abundance of nutritious and energizing herbs are the perfect way to start your day or come alive in the sleepy afternoon with a delicious minty cup.

Several of the herbs used in Awakening Tea have been traditionally used in herbal medicine to aid digestion.

Ingredients: Labrador tea, nettle, peppermint, alfalfa, astragalus, meadowsweet, angelica, spearmint, ginseng.

General brewing instructions: Heat water to 175C to 185F / 80C to 85C. Steep for at least 3 to 5 minutes. May be rebrewed for two infusions.

Gourmet hints: Best unsweetened but nice with mild honey or maple syrup.

Taste: Bright, creamy, supple, mild astringent, medium body “Canada in a Cup.”

Properties: Vitamins A and C, manganese, iron, copper, zinc, calcium.
